In May 2008 Christies in Milan held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Senza titolo by Domenico Cantatore. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,500.00 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Cantatore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Natura morta, which sold at auction in May 2000 for ITL 28,200,000.00 (€ 24,185.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Mailand die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Senza titolo von Domenico Cantatore zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.500,00 und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Domenico Cantatore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Natura morta beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für ITL 28.200.000,00 (€ 24.185,25) versteigert wurde.
