Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna, Saint Joseph, the Infant Baptist and an angel adoring the Infant Christ: The “Feigen Adoration” by Domenico Beccafumi was sold in the Collector, Dealer, Connoisseur: The Vision of Richard L. Feigen auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 340,200.00 (€ 294,494.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Domenico Beccafumi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,085,000.00 (€ 1,538,165.58).

Feigen bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 340.200,00 (€ 294.494,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Domenico Beccafumi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.085.000,00 (€ 1.538.165,58).
