In October this year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Still Life by Do Quang Em. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 96,000.00 (€ 11,609.39), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Do Quang Em - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Quen, which sold at auction in October this year for HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,766.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von Do Quang Em zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 96.000,00 (€ 11.609,39) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Do Quang Em mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Quen beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für HKD 204.800,00 (€ 24.766,69) versteigert wurde.
