Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work My Wife by Do Quang Em was worth HKD 200,000.00 (€ 21,912.69) to a buyer in July 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Do Quang Em; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Quen sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,766.69).
