This artwork by Do Quang Em achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Portrait sold for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 13,371.43) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Do Quang Em; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Quen sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,766.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Do Quang Em erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait für HKD 118.750,00 (€ 13.371,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Do Quang Em; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Quen im Oktober diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 204.800,00 (€ 24.766,69).
