This artwork by Do Quang Em achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008. In the An Important Collection of Vietnamese Paintings Featuring The Philip Ng Collection auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady sold for HKD 271,500.00 (€ 22,375.03) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Do Quang Em; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Quen sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,766.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Do Quang Em erzielte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion An Important Collection of Vietnamese Paintings Featuring The Philip Ng Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady für HKD 271.500,00 (€ 22.375,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Do Quang Em; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait Of Quen im Oktober diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 204.800,00 (€ 24.766,69).
