Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Objectives In My Life by Do Quang Em was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,412.97). Admittedly, works by Do Quang Em have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Quen in October this year with an auction result of HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,766.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Objectives In My Life von Do Quang Em im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.412,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Do Quang Em auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Quen im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 204.800,00 (€ 24.766,69).
