Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Karma by Do-Ho Suh was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 350,000.00 – 450,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 375,000.00 (€ 40,374.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Do-Ho Suh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Some/One in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 782,500.00 (€ 601,460.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Karma von Do-Ho Suh kam im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 350.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 40.374,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Do-Ho Suh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Some/One im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 782.500,00 (€ 601.460,42).
