A top price for Dirck van Bergen - as previously expected
In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work An Italianate landscape with a shepherd and shepherdess sheltering under a tree with animals; and An Italianate landscape with a peasant family resting with cattle by a fountain by Dirck van Bergen. The price achieved of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,119.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An Italianate landscape with a shepherd and shepherdess sheltering under a tree with animals; and An Italianate landscape with a peasant family resting with cattle by a fountain is the most expensive artwork by Dirck van Bergen that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with a shepherd and shepherdess sheltering under a tree with animals; and An Italianate landscape with a peasant family resting with cattle by a fountain von Dirck van Bergen zur Versteigerung kam. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist An Italianate landscape with a shepherd and shepherdess sheltering under a tree with animals; and An Italianate landscape with a peasant family resting with cattle by a fountain das teuerste Kunstwerk von Dirck van Bergen, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
