Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Cottages in the Forest by Ding Yunpeng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 150,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 620,000.00 (€ 64,587.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ding Yunpeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sweeping the Elephant in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 6,640,000.00 (€ 767,939.75).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Cottages in the Forest von Ding Yunpeng im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 150.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 620.000,00 (€ 64.587,51) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ding Yunpeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sweeping the Elephant im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.640.000,00 (€ 767.939,75).
