Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Brewing Tea by Ding Yunpeng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 2,680,000.00 (€ 253,460.41). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ding Yunpeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sweeping the Elephant, which sold at auction in June 2015 for HKD 6,640,000.00 (€ 767,939.75).
