This artwork by Désiré Thomassin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2002. In the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction, the work Sorting the catch on the beach of Dunkirk (?) sold for EUR 7,170.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Désiré Thomassin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A beachscene with fisherfolk sorting the catch sold at auction in October 2001 with the realized price of EUR 8,225.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Désiré Thomassin erzielte im April 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART wurde die Arbeit Sorting the catch on the beach of Dunkirk (?) für EUR 7.170,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Désiré Thomassin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A beachscene with fisherfolk sorting the catch im Oktober 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 8.225,00.
