A top price for Désiré Thomassin - as previously expected
In October 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY ART, which included the work A beachscene with fisherfolk sorting the catch by Désiré Thomassin. The price achieved of EUR 8,225.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A beachscene with fisherfolk sorting the catch is the most expensive artwork by Désiré Thomassin that we have observed at auctions so far.
