Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mediterranean landscape by Derwent Lees was sold in the 20C British Pictures auction at Christies in London in June 2000. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,987.50 (€ 15,831.42), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Derwent Lees have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sandhills in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 71,083.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mediterranean landscape von Derwent Lees wurde im Juni 2000 in der Auktion 20C British Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 15.831,42) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derwent Lees auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sandhills im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 71.083,80).
