Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work The Wellesley coming out of the mist by Derek George Montague Gardner for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,323.17). This price was achieved in the auction The Marine Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek George Montague Gardner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The 'Glorious First of June', 1794 in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,900.00 (€ 73,095.75).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00.
