Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, 1958 by Denis Bowen was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Christies in London in March 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,728.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Denis Bowen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Form Through Action, which sold at auction in November 2017 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,675.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled, 1958 von Denis Bowen wurde im März 2015 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.728,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Denis Bowen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Form Through Action beobachtet, die im November 2017 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.675,74) versteigert wurde.
