Inscribed and signed, with two seals of the artist
Dated twenty-second day, yichou year of the Jiaqing era (1805)
Six collectors' seals, including one of Ying Yeping (1910-1990), one of Di Xuegeng (19th century) and two of Wu Bicheng (20th century)

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eight-character Couplet in Seal Script by Deng Shiru was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. The price achieved of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 61,980.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Deng Shiru - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seal Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in September 2011 for USD 182,500.00 (€ 135,697.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Eight-character Couplet in Seal Script von Deng Shiru kam im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 61.980,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Deng Shiru mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seal Script Calligraphy beobachtet, die im September 2011 für USD 182.500,00 (€ 135.697,82) versteigert wurde.
