Signed: Wanbo Deng Shiru, with two seals of the artist: Deng Shi Ru, Wan Bo
Inscription by each of Sun Rujin, with two seals, and Ding Yanchen, dated summer, bingyin year of the Tongzhi era (1866), with three seals

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Deng Shiru achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2001. In the FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY auction, the work Couplet In Seal Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 141,000.00 (€ 20,100.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Deng Shiru have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seal Script Calligraphy in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 135,697.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Deng Shiru erzielte im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script Calligraphy für HKD 141.000,00 (€ 20.100,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Deng Shiru auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seal Script Calligraphy im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 135.697,82).
