Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Wilkie could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II auction, the work Study for 'The Bride at her Toilet on the Day of her Wedding' changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 440.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wilkie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spanish Girl in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 522,024.96).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Wilkie konnte im November 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II wechselte die Arbeit Study for 'The Bride at her Toilet on the Day of her Wedding' für GBP 375,00 (€ 440,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wilkie erzielen.
