Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Pacific Gothic, 1944 by David Strachan. The price achieved of AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,201.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Strachan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Tree Cemetery, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 7,800.00 (€ 4,664.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pacific Gothic, 1944 von David Strachan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.201,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Strachan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Tree Cemetery beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 7.800,00 (€ 4.664,22) versteigert wurde.
