Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Infanta and Horse by David McClure was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,846.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David McClure have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figure in an Interior in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 29,916.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Infanta and Horse von David McClure kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.846,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David McClure auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figure in an Interior im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 29.916,72).
