Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coffee Pot and Gourds by David McClure was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,929.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David McClure achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure in an Interior in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 29,916.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coffee Pot and Gourds von David McClure kam im September 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.929,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David McClure erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure in an Interior im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 29.916,72).
