Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Doors of Glass by David Jones was sold in the The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer auction at Christies in London in January 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,658.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crucifixion, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 110,615.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Doors of Glass von David Jones wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.658,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von David Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crucifixion beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 110.615,78) versteigert wurde.
