Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Boss Boy, Randfontein Estates Goldmine by David Goldblatt. The price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,752.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Goldblatt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images of South Africa, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 51,510.99).
