Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Farmhouse Grassdae near Molteno, Eastern Cape from Intersections by David Goldblatt. The price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,202.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Goldblatt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images of South Africa in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 51,510.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farmhouse Grassdae near Molteno, Eastern Cape from Intersections von David Goldblatt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.202,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Goldblatt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images of South Africa im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 51.510,99).
