Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work The North Esk, Inverness-shire by David Farquharson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Farquharson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Morning Breeze, Dordrecht, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 16,730.00 (€ 24,079.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The North Esk, Inverness-shire von David Farquharson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.180,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Farquharson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Morning Breeze, Dordrecht beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für GBP 16.730,00 (€ 24.079,07) versteigert wurde.
