The work Australian Still Life by David Edgar Strachan was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009. It achieved a price of AUD 7,800.00 (€ 4,585.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Edgar Strachan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Oranges, which sold at auction in August 2001 for AUD 30,550.00 (€ 17,735.13).

Die Arbeit Australian Still Life von David Edgar Strachan wurde im August 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 7.800,00 (€ 4.585,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von David Edgar Strachan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Oranges beobachtet, die im August 2001 für AUD 30.550,00 (€ 17.735,13) versteigert wurde.
