Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life with Fish by David Edgar Strachan was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005. The price achieved of AUD 10,755.00 (€ 6,554.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 9,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Edgar Strachan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life with Oranges, which sold at auction in August 2001 for AUD 30,550.00 (€ 17,735.13).

Die Arbeit Still Life with Fish von David Edgar Strachan kam im August 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 10.755,00 (€ 6.554,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 9.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Edgar Strachan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Still Life with Oranges beobachtet, die im August 2001 für AUD 30.550,00 (€ 17.735,13) versteigert wurde.
