Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Belgian contemplation by David De Noter was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,260.34). Admittedly, works by David De Noter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La lecture in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,499.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Belgian contemplation von David De Noter im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.260,34) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David De Noter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La lecture im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 70.499,37).
