This artwork by David Bromley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2003. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Young Boy sold for AUD 17,037.50 (€ 9,431.01) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Bromley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Afternoon Tea Boy sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of GBP 10,250.00 (€ 12,093.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Bromley erzielte im Mai 2003 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS wurde die Arbeit Young Boy für AUD 17.037,50 (€ 9.431,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Bromley; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Afternoon Tea Boy im November 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.250,00 (€ 12.093,99).
