This artwork by David Bromley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Self Portrait Series sold for AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,094.60) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Bromley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Afternoon Tea Boy in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 10,250.00 (€ 12,093.99).
