Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction European & British Art, Part I, which included the work The Return of Tibullus to Delia by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The price achieved of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 120,373.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pandora in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,571,020.97).
