Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Crossing the Ohio, 1966 by Danny Lyon was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,576.82), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danny Lyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Crossing the Ohio, 1966 von Danny Lyon wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.576,82) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Danny Lyon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.250,76).
