Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Shell' Coffee Table by Danny Lane was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,127.21). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Danny Lane - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Bone' Dining Table, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,979.60).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Shell' Coffee Table von Danny Lane im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.127,21) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Danny Lane mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Bone' Dining Table beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.979,60) versteigert wurde.
