Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Yellow View 2 by Dan Walsh was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,357.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dan Walsh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Diptych II in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,149.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Yellow View 2 von Dan Walsh im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.357,86) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dan Walsh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Diptych II im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.149,56).
