Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Oleoylsarcosine by Damien Hirst was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in February 2012. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,895.46), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
