Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2014 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Ordem, replica, acaso (Order, Reply, Chance) by Damián Ortega. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,029.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damián Ortega achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2014 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ordem, replica, acaso (Order, Reply, Chance) von Damián Ortega zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.029,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damián Ortega erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Auto construcción, caja de velocidades im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 76.994,15).
