Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Material en reposo II (Brasil) by Damián Ortega was sold in the Latin America auction at Phillips in New York in May 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,838.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Damián Ortega have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Auto construcción, caja de velocidades in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 76,994.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Material en reposo II (Brasil) von Damián Ortega wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Latin America bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.838,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Damián Ortega auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Auto construcción, caja de velocidades im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 76.994,15).
