In May 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale Evening Session, which included the work El clásico by Damián González. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,000.00 (€ 19,922.88), 55% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damián González - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Islote en la niebla, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 68,500.00 (€ 55,380.39).

Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale Evening Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit El clásico von Damián González zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.000,00 (€ 19.922,88) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Damián González mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Islote en la niebla beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 68.500,00 (€ 55.380,39) versteigert wurde.
