Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn Bounty by Dale William Nichols was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,428.09). Admittedly, works by Dale William Nichols have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farm Scene in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 99,672.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn Bounty von Dale William Nichols im September 2008 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.428,09) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dale William Nichols auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farm Scene im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 99.672,19).
