Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Man Sleeping In A Boat by Dai Jin was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 300,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 157,557.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dai Jin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grand View Of Mountains And Rivers, which sold at auction in March 2013 for USD 461,000.00 (€ 359,706.62).
