In August this year Christies in New York held the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Red Lotus by Cui Zifan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 47,880.00 (€ 5,632.16), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cui Zifan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plum blossoms and Cranes in June 2015 with an auction result of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 50,598.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red Lotus von Cui Zifan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 47.880,00 (€ 5.632,16) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cui Zifan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Plum blossoms and Cranes im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 50.598,44).
