Despite a disappointment, a good price for Theodore Zichy
This work of art by Theodore Zichy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Selected Images changed hands for USD 882.00 (€ 721.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Despite this disappointing result, Selected Images is the most expensive artwork by Theodore Zichy that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Theodore Zichy
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theodore Zichy konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wechselte die Arbeit Selected Images für USD 882,00 (€ 721,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Selected Images das teuerste Kunstwerk von Theodore Zichy, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
