Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chiaroscuro by Theodore Zichy was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS auction at Christies in London in November 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 100.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 29.38 (€ 46.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Zichy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Images in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 882.00 (€ 721.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chiaroscuro von Theodore Zichy wurde im November 2002 in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25,00 – 100,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 29,38 (€ 46,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Zichy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Selected Images im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 882,00 (€ 721,18).
