Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Sweet 16 by Cory Arcangel. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,940.00 (€ 26,743.11), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cory Arcangel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photoshop CS: 110 by 72 inches, 300 DPI, RGB, square pixels, default gradient "Spectrum," mousedown y=31100 x=1500, mouse up y=32850 x=800 in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 325,000.00 (€ 376,976.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sweet 16 von Cory Arcangel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 26.743,11) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cory Arcangel erzielen.
