In the Old Master Paintings and British Paintings auction, the work Portraits Of John Huxley; And His Wife, Elizabeth Tryon, Both Half Length sold for GBP 46,850.00 (€ 53,915.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cornelius Johnson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of Thomas, 1St Baron Coventry (1578-1640), Lord Keeper Of The Great Seal sold at auction in May 2020 with the realized price of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,134.62).
