Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,898.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelius Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Thomas, 1St Baron Coventry (1578-1640), Lord Keeper Of The Great Seal in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,134.62).
