Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a lady, half-length, wearing a pink dress with green bows and a lace collar by Cornelius Johnson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,766.29). Admittedly, works by Cornelius Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Thomas, 1St Baron Coventry (1578-1640), Lord Keeper Of The Great Seal in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,134.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, half-length, wearing a pink dress with green bows and a lace collar von Cornelius Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.766,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelius Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Thomas, 1St Baron Coventry (1578-1640), Lord Keeper Of The Great Seal im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.134,62).
