In the Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,119.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelius Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Thomas, 1St Baron Coventry (1578-1640), Lord Keeper Of The Great Seal in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,134.62).
