Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior of the Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam by Cornelis Springer was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 32,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Springer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of The Westerstraat In Enkhuizen In Summer in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 1,104,000.00.
